Our film documents and explains the impact of our Building Self-Belief programme with Year 9 Girls at Consett Academy, County Durham. The programme helps the young people to grow in confidence and encourages them to be more aspirational about their future careers. It was a privilege to work with them.

A new way of long distance learning needs to be swiftly incorporated to ensure all students get the very best support at this crucial time. The most obvious solution is educational technology – EdTech.

As part of her final year, Aimee Wager nominated Building Self-Belief as the University of Newcastle's Dance Society's chosen charity and in her role as Welfare Officer, she will be organising a series of fundraising events. The first event was the quiz night - and what a massive success it was!

Thomas was born in Shotley Bridge Hospital, but grew up in Shield Row, one of the villages surrounding Stanley. He is 28 years old and was once a Stanley Town Councillor. Read his thoughts on Stanley's present and future here...
