The Youth Panel is a group of youth representatives working closely with BSBCIO to ensure we are meeting the needs of the young people. By being the 'voice' of the community they aim to guide and support the local people to take action to make Consett a more inviting place for our young people to live.
Our Aims
1. To equip our young people with the skills to take an active role as future leaders in their community.
2. To empower young people by giving them the strategies to improve their self-belief and take ownership of their lives.
3. To encourage our young people to use their creativity and imagination to help improve their local area.
4. To make young people aware of their environment and their capabilities in controlling their own life and the lives of others as a force for good.
5. To encourage young people across the generations to build stronger communities.
Youth Panel
Our aim is to create a Youth Panel, where we give young people a voice and a say in how the community should be supporting them. Take a look at our Youth Manifesto that our young people have produced to guide and support the local people to take action to make Consett a more inviting place for our young people to live.
Youth Manifesto 2024-2025Sponsorship of Eddie, our Volunteer
As a charity we are always looking for opportunities to support our young people. Eddie regularly volunteers for the charity at our youth clubs and he has also done a great deal of work at our community garden. What better way to support him than to sponsor him as part of his football team as a player at Ashington FC. We look forward to seeing him play over the coming season!
High Sheriff Youth Awards
Earlier in March, we were delighted and honoured to have attended the High Sheriff Youth Awards at Ushaw College. This is yet another opportunity to visit an historic building, with the added bonus of the potential for winning an award for their thoroughly deserving young people.
