About Peter
Peter has over 25 years teaching experience, beginning his career in Redbridge, East London, and going on to work at schools in Northumberland and North Tyneside. He has had a variety of managerial roles, and had been in Senior Leadership roles since 2006. He was most recently the Head of Teaching and Learning at Churchill Community College in Wallsend, Tyne and Wear. In May 2014, the college was graded by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’ in all categories, and received National Teaching School status in 2015.
Peter also led the ‘Teaching and Learning Team’ from Churchill Community College who achieved national recognition in the 2014 National Teaching Awards as Regional Award winner, Silver Award winner and London finalist for the National Secondary School Team of the Year.
Peter is a Teacher Fellow of the Centre for Life in Newcastle upon Tyne and is also winner of the Passport Pride Award for Outstanding Achievement from Teesside University in recognition of his work in supporting the transition of students in to Higher Education.
Peter has also worked in an accountancy firm, and for a PR company, and has a true understanding and appreciation of how to achieve effective communication in the workplace. Most recently Peter has started to deliver Child Protection Training to schools, college and private hire firms.
